NOTE: The flag (Fax Line = True) is intended specifically for numbers that will be used for faxing, but numbers doing both faxing and voice calls, can be flagged as a fax. What we wish to avoid is having voice only numbers being flagged, as this uses up the fax routing resources.
To Enable or Disable a number as a fax line through ucontrol.thinktel.ca you have to…
- Open uControl
- Click on the blue "Services" Tab, then click "Numbers"
- Enter the number in the search or locate in the list of all your numbers.
- Click the "Edit" button beside the number you want to be enabled as fax line
- In the Fax Line field, change status to True
- Click Save.
Click Management-->Dashboard to return to the main screen.
If you do a large volume of faxing, you might want to create a faxing trunk (or if you already have). ThinkTel support can enable the whole trunk as fax, then when any new DID's are added to the trunk they are automatically flagged as fax lines.
